HFSC Registration Information
Lessons/Absence:
If your skater is going to be away for any reason, please notify the Head Coach by 8pm the night before, or if it's sudden illness/injury by 1 pm the day of. This will allow time to make alternate arrangements if needed. Failure to do so will result in charges for your skaters missed lesson(s). If your skater would like to take advantage of a skater's absence by receiving extra lessons, please notify your child's coach and you will be kept in mind when making alternate lesson arrangements.
Billing/Payment:
Billing will take place monthly. Payment is due within 2 weeks of receipt of the invoice. Invoices will be emailed or given in person. If for some reason you are unable to pay within this time period, please let the coach know and you can arrange a payment plan. Payments can be made to the coach at the arena, mailed to the address listed on your invoice, or an Etransfer to the coach's email address/cell phone.
There will be a late payment penalty of $15.
If you are paying cash, please put in an envelope with your name & the amount paid on it.
Please do not put coach payments into the HFSC Mailbox.
Note – if you have a specific budget, please advise the Head Coach right away and we will make sure to keep within it.
Skaters:
Appearance: Your skater needs to attend their session in tight-fitting, athletic
clothing. Absolutely no jeans, baggy clothing or bulky winter jackets & hoodies. We need to be able to see the skater's body to be able to detect errors, etc. Hair should be out of the skater's face and tied back. Headbands may be worn but must not restrict the peripheral vision (for safety reasons – no toques). We know sometimes the skaters get cold so please make sure they dress in layers, again tight-fitting. Athletic shoes will be mandatory for off-ice/dryland sessions.
Attendance:
It is expected skaters are on time for on and off ice sessions. We know with late dismissals this isn't always a possibility, but it is expected when they do arrive that they do their best to be quick in getting to their session. Skaters who are late without good reason may be turned away. For safety reasons, skaters are not permitted to leave the ice without permission. If your skater will be making a sudden departure for whatever reason (they are hurt, or something has come up for the parent suddenly) please have them come and let us know prior to leaving.
Program Assisting:
The success of our CanSkate program depends on the Program Assistants!
Training will be administered in October. It is expected that skaters help with at least one CanSkate session per month. A schedule will be sent out via email as well as posted in the locker room.
Additional Reminders:
• Carnival practices will begin following the Christmas Break. Attendance and
punctuality are very important for development of group routines. If a
skater is continually late or absent, their role in the Carnival may be
reduced or removed.
